La Semaine de Son (Week of Sound) is taking place in Lebanon for the first time, organized by UNESCO Office in Beirut with the American University of Beirut (AUB), ESA Business School, and Université Saint-Joseph de Beyrouth – USJ, under the patronage of the Ministry of Culture (Lebanon) in collaboration with the Ministry Of Telecommunication and Ministry of Education and Higher Education.
In an attempt to reactivate public spaces in Ain El Mreisseh and encourage using them for social and cultural activities, specifically the stairs that used to connect the city to the sea, the AUB Neighborhood Initiative is organizing 3 events that revolve around sound, the city, and the sea.
1- Wednesday, May 8, 12pm (continues till Friday May 17)
Le Souffleur: an urban acoustic intervention designed by district d.

2- Friday, May 10, 9:00pm-11:30pm
An Ode to the Sea: An open air concert curated by Budhaditya Chattopadhyay with participating artists: Safar Music, Liliane Chlela, Fadi Tabbal, Jad Atoui, Nadim Mishlawi, Sharif Sehnaoui, and Budhaditya Chattopadhyay.
Location: Van Dyck stairs – Ras Beirut
3- Saturday, May 11, First session at 10:00am Second session at 11:30am

La Semaine du Son a lieu pour la première fois au Liban, organisée par le Bureau de l’UNESCO à Beyrouth avec l’Université américaine de Beyrouth (AUB), l’ESA Business School et l’Université Saint-Joseph de Beyrouth – USJ, sous le patronage du ministère de la Culture (Liban) en collaboration avec le ministère des Télécommunications et le ministère de l’Éducation et de l’Enseignement supérieur.
